Ondo price

Yesterday, Ondo Global Markets went live. Seeing that KYC in China has been banned, I was actually quite disappointed. After all, the core user market is directly blocked at the door. Later, I found that aggregators and wallets connected through the API can actually buy directly, and I instantly felt the team was very capable. As for Ondo's stock tokenization plan, it's better described as "stock buying" rather than "tokenization": 1⃣ The product experience is no different from Swap, with no order book. 2⃣ Liquidity mirrors Nasdaq, with quotes coming from market makers. 3⃣ Buy = mint, sell = redeem, with no involvement in the delivery of the underlying stock. From this perspective, Ondo is essentially distributing stocks to on-chain users (mainly non-U.S., especially clients in East Asia), allowing users to gain exposure to U.S. stocks without needing to withdraw funds. A pioneer of a similar model is Robinhood, but it currently only allows U.S. users, and the main demand from East Asia is not being captured. The so-called 24/7 liquidity is actually just unrestricted token transfers; after transferring out, you can find counterparties on other DEX/OTC. Its own trading hours are exactly the same as U.S. stocks, so there won't be market makers passively taking on unnecessary exposure during non-trading hours. Additionally, Ondo is also the first to clearly tell users: Tokenized stocks ≠ underlying stocks. Tokenized stocks do not have voting and governance rights; they are merely an index tracking "holding stocks and reinvesting dividends" total return, reflecting the price performance chart "before the ex-dividend date." As for whether this plan is the optimal solution for tokenization, I think it doesn't matter. What's important is to let everyone buy first and see if there really is that much customer demand when liquidity is not an issue. Product development requires launching to validate, and then considering iterations. From this perspective, Ondo's stock buying is already the most pragmatic.
